As an applied for new Top Level Domain, .Internet represents true value to the Domain Name System (DNS) and to the Internet in general:  .Internet commits to bridge the Internet divide by encouraging IDN webspaces (websites with local domain names) to take up a corresponding .Internet name in English (ASCII); this connects web spaces across languages and helps preserve the Internet as a globally interconnected space. Nameshop reiterates its commitment to donate at least one quarter of its yearly income to further the evolution of the Internet and for larger causes with the advice of the Community.

The overall public interest commitments from Nameshop exceed those (extracts from our elaborate commitments) stated above. Nameshop, while pursuing profits as a commercial entity, would include the Community's involvement in furthering the DNS Community's efforts to preserve the global Internet as One Internet that would help address and resolve macro governance challenges by building up this space with a purposeful design of values. Nameshop's commitments arise not merely from its present and post-delegation capabilities, but more from the collective wisdom and strengths that could be requested from the DNS and the global Internet Communities. DNS is not only the bridge that connects multiple points across borders, but the community could cause it evolve further to cause a flow of solutions to various spheres of life that visibly and imperceptibly revolve around the technical core. These include solutions to such elusive problems as that of the homeless, migrants and the poor, problems of the land and sea, and problems unique to small businesses in developing areas trying to reach global markets. In essence, .Internet could make use of the DNS technologies to enable the Community to grow solutions in spheres all around the technical root, online and offline. Internet is the only applicant to date with that mission, its delegation would be a significant development in realizing ICANN's goals of the program.

.Internet would help the Community's efforts to preserve the Internet as One Internet

Over the years of waiting, the purpose has expanded significantly, which are reflected in Nameshop's reaffirmed and expanded public interest commitments documented severally, with the assertion that Nameshop commits to implement its Public Interest Commitments for the good of the Internet, whether or  not there is a process in place to make the Public Interest Commitments legally binding and enforceable. This application of the 2012 application round is pursued with the intention of being part of the effort of the Community to make the global Internet evolve further in the direction of addressing and solving macro challenges in every sphere.
